Frequently asked

PLDT vs Converge — alin mas mabuti?+

Depende sa area. PLDT has the widest fiber footprint (NCR + most provinces); Converge is often the cheaper fiber option in Metro Manila and Calabarzon. In smaller towns, PLDT usually wins on availability. The region filter above shows you the score for each in your area.

What is FWA and is DITO Home reliable?+

FWA = Fixed Wireless Access (5G internet over a SIM, no cable). DITO Home and Globe At Home Air offer this. Speeds are decent in NCR/Cebu/Davao but degrade quickly outside city centers. Good as a backup or short-term solution; for serious WFH stick with fiber if available.

Which provider has Disney+ included?+

Globe At Home and PLDT Home both bundle streaming subscriptions on select plans (Disney+, BlastTV, Cignal). Bundle inclusions are listed on each plan card above. Always verify on the carrier site — bundles change frequently.

Should I sign a contract?+

Postpaid contracts (12-24 months) usually get you a free or subsidized router. No-contract plans charge ₱2,500-₱4,000 install fee upfront. If you plan to stay 12+ months, the contract saves you money. If you might move within a year, no-contract is safer.

How accurate is the ₱/Mbps comparison?+

₱/Mbps is computed as monthly_price ÷ speed_mbps. Useful as a quick value index but ignores quality (latency, peak-hour throttling, customer service). Real speed varies by neighbourhood. Treat ₱/Mbps as a sanity check, not the only factor.

Why is my area not served?+

Some carriers haven't laid fiber in every barangay. The region filter shows you which providers have decent coverage in your macro region; for hyperlocal availability you must check the carrier's coverage page (the "Check coverage" buttons link directly there).

How do you decide which provider has best coverage in my region?+

We use a hand-crafted regional coverage matrix sourced from Opensignal's Sep 2025 PH Fixed Broadband Experience Report, official carrier coverage maps (deflated for marketing inflation), unbox.ph and walastech.com regional summaries, and PinoyDealsPH community feedback. The region filter pill row above plugs your region into the ranking — providers with weak coverage in your region drop in match score.
